This position requires a CDL license with Tanker endorsement and the ability to learn how to operate an Asphalt Distributor Truck. Must pass DOT physical/drug screen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt distributor on road construction projects.
- Set spray bar on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors for applying liquid asphalt.
- Apply oil, grease, and perform routine equipment service and normal operating adjustments.
- Maintain equipment in efficient working condition; perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to supervisor.
- Assist with shovel work, setting string line, adding or removing screed extensions.
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Perform basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
