Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dependable Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to deliver freight across various routes, ensuring timely and secure deliveries. Your expertise in driving different types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized vehicles, will be essential to our success. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Transport a variety of cargo including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and other specialized freight with precision and care.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Manage route driving responsibilities, including planning optimal routes for timely deliveries while considering road conditions and delivery windows.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups and deliveries, providing updates on delivery status as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks preferred.
- Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using equipment such as forklifts or manual methods.
- Knowledge of route planning and navigation for efficient delivery schedules.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to commercial driving and vehicle maintenance.
