Tampa Container Transport is looking to hire 1 dependable Class A CDL Company Driver for container transportation. If you are reliable, hardworking, and want consistent work with a company that values its drivers, we’d like to hear from you.
Position Overview
- Home every day
- Work as an independent contractor on 1099NEC basis, we DO NOT take taxes out of your check.
- Monday–Friday schedule
- Optional weekend work available (rare and completely voluntary)
- Approximately 75% of work is within a 100-mile radius of Tampa Bay
- Approximately 25% consists of longer Florida runs
- Port and rail work, including the Port of Tampa and CSX Rail
- Hours vary based on customer appointment times (no fixed start or end time)
- We operate 100% legally with a maximum 11-hour driving/14-hour on-duty day
- All trucks are equipped with ELDs
Compensation & Benefits
- Average weekly earnings: $800–$1,600+
- Paid per load
- Guaranteed minimum pay of $800 per week, provided you are available to work Monday through Friday. This guarantee applies during unusually slow weeks or if a truck requires repairs. We also maintain two spare trucks to minimize downtime.
- Detention pay: $30.00 per hour after the first two free hours
- Assigned truck
- Direct deposit every Friday (following a two-week holdback period)

Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- TWIC Card (Required before applying)
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable Class A CDL experience
- Must be experienced operating a 10-speed manual transmission (road test required)
- Must be at least 25 years old
- No more than 3 points on your driving record
- No DUI convictions
- No at-fault accidents within the last 3 years
- Current MVR required at the interview
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in random testing
- Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Tampa, Florida
- Container experience is a strong plus
- Must be able to operate GPS equipment and respond promptly to dispatch instructions
