Summary: This position is responsible for providing quality service to customers and for ensuring the completion of tasks to ensure the success of our freight operations. The CDL Company Driver will transport goods from our distribution center to customers throughout the Southeast region.
Company Driver Job Responsibilities
- Document hours accurately
- Perform regular safety inspections of equipment in keeping with DOT, company SOPs and OSHA standards
- Communicate professionally with Fleet Manager
- Follow a schedule of weekly recurring local runs between the warehouse and the customers
- Deliver freight on time
- Inspect trailers before and after loading, paying attention to status of air lines and jack positions and adjusting them as necessary
- Visit weigh stations before and after packing to ensure that loads meet state safety regulations, making alterations to loads when required by law
- Contribute to company data by honestly recording times of delivery and hours worked
- Maintain product quality throughout conveyance
- Adhere to traffic safety regulations at all times, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities
- Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
- Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion.
- Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
Required Skills/Abilities
High school diploma or GED
CDL license
Two years of experience working as a CDL driver with no legal or safety incidents on record
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work with little supervision
Education And Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Minimum 2 Years’ Experience Required
Clean MVR, no accidents
