The Role
Stoke on Trent City Council are looking for Driver Charge Hands to deliver essential maintenance across the road network, including potholes repairs, patching works and gully cleansing to prevent flooding and improve drainage.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out highway repairs including potholes, patching and minor works
- Undertake gully cleansing and general drainage maintenance
- Operate plant and vehicles safely
- Ensure works are completed to high standards and in line with health and safety requirements
About You
- Experience in highways maintenance or construction
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work as part of a team in a physical outdoor role
- Strong awareness of health and safety
- Reliable, proactive and committed to delivery high quality work

Driver Assessment Requirement
Appointment to any of the above posts is subject to successfully completing a practical, road-based driver assessment. This assessment ensures the candidate can operate Large Goods Vehicles (LGVs) safely and competently, in line with all legal and safety standards.
