Job Description:
FV Recycling is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Driver Manager/Dispatcher to join our growing operations team. This is a high-impact role at the center of our logistics operation, responsible for coordinating daily service, supporting drivers, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
As a Driver Manager, you will oversee daily routing operations and serve as the primary manager for a team of route drivers. You'll balance logistics planning, compliance, and communication to ensure routes run safety, efficiently, and on schedule.
This role partners closely with Operations, Customer Service, and Maintenance teams to keep service running smoothly and continuously improving performance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use custom routing software to schedule daily and weekly pickups
- Track and communicate with drivers daily to ensure on time service
- Work with the customer service team to review and prioritize service requests
- Plan efficient routes to maximize loads and service customers on time
- Assist with scheduling on minor equipment maintenance and roadside service
- Manage attendance and leave requests for drivers
- Review load documents for accuracy
- Work with management team to increase efficiency for all routes through the use of KPIs
- Correspond with customers and customer service agents regarding pickups and any delays to service
- Collaborate with other team members to cover routes as needed to avoid lapse in service
- Participate in training, coaching, and disciplinary action for drivers
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2 years or more previous experience in transportation dispatch or DOT mandated business preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Highly adaptable
- Excellent organizational skills and logical thinking
- Strong communication skills
- Multitasking
- Basic to proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with an ability to quickly learn new software operations
