Role Summary
As a Driver Trainer with Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS), you will play a key role in developing and assessing our people to ensure they can operate and respond safely using the ECFRS fleet of appliances and vehicles.
You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality driver training and assessments, supporting learners at different stages of their development and maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and competence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide training for specialist vehicles
Qualifications and Eligibility
- Hold an LGV licence that has been held for a minimum of 3 years
- Hold a valid manual UK Driving Licence for Category B and C vehicles, held for a minimum of 3 years
- Have experience of operating IT systems including Excel and Share Point
- Have the flexibility to drive and travel around the County
- Hold an Emergency Response Driving qualification
- Internal candidates must discuss their application with their line manager and confirm there are no outstanding issues of conduct or performance
