Overview of role:
Reporting to the Director, Fleet Leasing and Transactions, the Fleet Transaction Tech Manager will oversee management of transactions related to the West Jet fleet. This role plays a critical role in managing, negotiating, and executing transactions on aircraft and aircraft-related assets across the fleet lifecycle. This role acts as a central point of coordination between internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure timely, compliant and cost-effective fleet transactions.
- Support the origination, negotiation, and documentation of aircraft transactions including acquisitions, sales, leases, returns and modifications
- Ensure enforcement of contracted terms to secure financial benefit for West Jet. Negotiate and resolve contractual and/or technical issues, as required
- Coordinate with operational teams including fleet transition, engineering, maintenance, and flight operations and maintain working relationships with lessors, maintenance providers to ensure compliant and timely transactions
- Manage aircraft redelivery, return condition, and end-of-lease management processes
- Maintain and communicate transaction timeline and milestones. Identify and mitigate transaction risks (technical, commercial, regulatory)
- Manage tracking of costs related to modifications and redelivery requirements to ensure cost efficiency
- Collaborate with the Fleet Planning team to align transaction activity with long-term fleet strategy
Experience and qualifications:
An overall 8 years+ of experience with the following:
- Proven experience in the airline industry, specifically in areas such as aircraft and asset transfers, aircraft evaluation, fleet planning, or contract management
- Solid understanding of aircraft technical specifications and operational
- Strong grasp of commercial aviation markets, aircraft financing, and fleet strategy
- Demonstrated strength in analytical thinking, negotiation, and project management
- Comfortable with developing relationship with internal stakeholders and external industry contacts, including maintenance providers and aircraft lessors
- In-depth knowledge of West Jet’s fleet and network, including familiarity with maintenance programs and contractual frameworks would be a strong asset
