Hornblower is seeking a skilled Mate to support the Master in managing vessel operations and ensuring safety standards. This role requires expertise in ship stability, crew training, and oversight of emergency procedures. Successful candidates will help maintain a strong crew morale and uphold rigorous compliance with marine regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain Officer of the Watch duties according to STCW
• Determine vessel’s stability and cargo limitations
• Liaise with shore authorities and comply with Standing Orders
• Assist in monitoring work performance and compliance
• Conduct crew training on Personal Protective Equipment
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Five years as a licensed Mate or Master
• STCW 95 Certificate with endorsements
• GMDSS and Radar Endorsement
• Superior ship-handling and leadership skills
