Job Summary
To ensure the speedy, efficient, and accurate delivery of pharmaceuticals to pharmacies and hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
- Perform a daily vehicle check to ensure roadworthiness, including lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
- Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
- Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle and its cleanliness.
- Ensure sufficient fuel for the day’s work.
- Maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
- Check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
- Collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and safely return them to the branch at times instructed by branch management.
- Ensure damages and breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly, following special procedures for Haz Chems.
- Always maintain a smart appearance.
- Help maintain good customer relations.
- Perform other duties, including warehouse tasks, as defined by Management.
- Meet all Health & Safety requirements.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Hold a full driving licence relevant to the vehicle being driven.
- Possess a clean licence; however, we will assess risk for applicants with points on their licence, which may affect shortlisting.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Provide excellent customer care.
- Have intermediate numeracy and literacy skills.
Desirable
- Previous experience in multi‑drop delivery driving (highly desirable).
- Experience in route planning.
