Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Scarsdale, NY, for a School Bus Driver. The School Bus Driver will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from schools and school-related activities, adhering to safe driving practices and traffic regulations. Additional responsibilities include performing routine vehicle inspections, maintaining a clean and safe environment on the bus, reporting incidents or delays, and fostering a positive, respectful atmosphere for students during transit.
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsements
- Demonstrated experience or ability to operate a school bus safely in various weather and traffic conditions
- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws, safety regulations, and defensive driving techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive and respectful environment for students
- Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to manage schedules effectively
- Passion for student safety and willingness to assist students with special needs, if necessary
- A clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination
- CPR and first aid certifications are a plus
- Previous experience as a school bus driver or in a related field is preferred
