We are currently recruiting for an experienced Time Critical Freight Operator to join a well-established, global freight forwarding business based at Heathrow.

With a presence in 120 locations across 30 countries, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a market-leading, multinational organisation specialising in urgent and high-priority logistics solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has hands-on experience managing time-critical shipments across air and road freight, including hand-carry / onboard courier (OBC) movements.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing end-to-end time-critical shipments, ensuring urgent consignments are delivered efficiently and within strict deadlines. This includes coordinating air freight, express road movements, and hand-carry solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle time-critical import and export shipments from start to finish
  • Coordinate air freight and road freight movements, including express and next-flight-out (NFO) solutions
  • Arrange and manage hand-carry (onboard courier) shipments for urgent deliveries
  • Complete customs clearances accurately and efficiently
  • Raise HAWBs and MAWBs, and manage all relevant documentation
  • Provide competitive quotations and pricing solutions
  • Liaise with airlines, hauliers, overseas agents, and customers
  • Deliver real-time updates and proactive communication to clients
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting repeat and new business opportunities
  • Negotiate with carriers and suppliers to achieve the best service and rates

About You

  • Proven experience in freight forwarding operations, ideally within time-critical logistics
  • Strong knowledge of air and road freight (imports & exports)
  • Experience handling urgent shipments and tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with customs processes and declarations
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, reactive environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
