Transport Driver
Position Title: Transport Driver
Location: Greybull, Wyoming
Reports To: Energy Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Transport Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of refined fuels
and energy products from supply terminals to company bulk plants, customer locations, and
storage facilities. This position plays a critical role in maintaining fuel inventory levels,
supporting customer operations, promoting cooperative growth, and ensuring compliance
with all DOT, OSHA, EPA, and company safety requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate fuel transport trucks and trailers in compliance with all federal, state,
local, and company regulations.
- Load fuel products at designated terminals and transport them to company storage
facilities, bulk plants, and customer locations.
- Deliver gasoline, diesel, ethanol blends, and other petroleum products safely and
accurately while following established delivery procedures and schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and en-route vehicle inspections and maintain accurate
inspection records.
- Complete bills of lading, delivery tickets, driver logs, inspection reports, inventory
records, and other required documentation accurately and timely.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT), hazardous materials, OSHA, EPA,
and company safety regulations.
- Verify product type, quantity, and delivery location to ensure accuracy and prevent
contamination.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report vehicle, trailer, or equipment issues
promptly.
- Monitor inventory levels at company facilities and communicate supply concerns to
management.
- Respond professionally to customer inquiries and coordinate delivery-related
concerns.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional appearance of assigned vehicles, equipment,
and work areas while representing the cooperative positively within the community.
- Actively promote the cooperative’s products and services by identifying sales
opportunities, generating customer referrals, communicating customer needs to the
appropriate team members, and supporting the cooperative’s growth objectives.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, terminal personnel, vendors,
and community members while serving as a professional representative and
ambassador of the cooperative.
- Assist with emergency response situations, weather-related operations, and after hours transportation needs when required.
- Assist with seasonal energy operations and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) and Tanker endorsements.
- Current DOT medical certification.
- Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
- Ability to safely operate combination vehicles and tank trailers.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
- Basic computer and mobile device skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and
seasonal overtime as needed.
Preferred
- Previous fuel transport, tanker, or petroleum delivery experience.
- Knowledge of petroleum products, fuel terminals, and bulk plant operations.
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management
systems.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of the local trade area and surrounding communities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and access tank trailers safely.
- Ability to connect and disconnect hoses, fittings, and loading equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work outdoors for extended periods.
- Ability to safely enter and exit commercial vehicles throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in varying weather and road conditions.
Working Conditions
- Frequent highway and rural road travel throughout Wyoming and surrounding areas.
- Exposure to petroleum products, fuel vapors, loading racks, and transportation-related
hazards requiring strict adherence to safety procedures.
- Regular interaction with terminal personnel, customers, vendors, and company
employees.
- Seasonal fluctuations in workload, including extended hours during peak demand
periods, supply disruptions, or emergency situations.
