Primary Duties and Responsibilities Staff Supervision & Training
- Supervise and participate with interviewing, recruitment, and selection of new transportation staff.
- Supervise/schedule CDFs as riders and drivers.
- Conduct transportation staff meetings as needed.
- Train riders and drivers as required.
- Ensure transporting staff have Class 4, S endorsement, and Car Seat Restraint Technician course.
- Provide administrative and physical support to Car Seat Technicians.
- Transport staff semi-monthly timesheets check calculations of hours, sign and give timesheets to Office Coordinator/Facility Manager.
Transportation Operations & Coordination
- Develop, coordinate and monitor transportation schedule with program staff and parents.
- Coordinate and implement alternate transportation plan due to absences.
- Inclement Weather/Transportation cancellations: monitor extreme weather, cancel drivers, notify radio stations, Aspire Facebook coordinator and initiate Staff Fan-out.
- Monitor, coordinate and schedule bus maintenance, service and all inspections.
- Transportation keys: monitor and distribute as required.
- Purchase car seats as needed.
- Maintain updated seating plan, child seat requirements and child information binders on buses.
Safety, Compliance & Administration
- Establish, maintain and implement current safety practices, policies and procedures.
- Remain cognizant of transportation legislation.
- Maintain and revise the Transportation Handbook as needed.
- Maintain commercial records as required by AB transportation.
- Prepare, update and distribute transportation manuals and handbook to staff yearly.
- Provide administration with updated drivers abstracts and drivers licenses.
- Member of Aspire Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 2 driver’s license with S endorsement.
- Experience working with children with diverse abilities.
