Compensation: $55,000–$75,000 annually (paid based on mileage and/or hours on the road)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday with regional travel throughout the Midwest. Occasional overnight travel required.
Work Environment: Home-based from the Waterloo/Cedar Falls, IA area while operating a company-provided 26-foot box truck. All travel expenses, fuel, insurance, lodging (when applicable), and vehicle maintenance are covered by the company.
Position Overview
The company is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Box Truck Driver to support regional deliveries throughout the Midwest. This individual will be responsible for safely transporting finished products to customers, coordinating deliveries, maintaining accurate documentation, and serving as a professional representative of the company during customer interactions. This role offers consistent regional routes, modern equipment, and the opportunity to be home the majority of weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company-provided 26-foot box truck while making scheduled deliveries throughout Iowa and surrounding Midwestern states.
- Load, transport, secure, and unload products while ensuring all materials arrive safely and damage-free.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections while maintaining accurate DOT logs and transportation documentation.
- Coordinate delivery schedules with operations, warehouse personnel, and customers to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Maintain professional communication with customers during deliveries while providing exceptional customer service.
- Verify shipping paperwork, delivery receipts, bills of lading, and inventory accuracy before and after deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and vehicle operating procedures.
- Report maintenance concerns, delivery issues, or customer feedback promptly to management.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and warehouse support activities as needed between delivery schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance of both the truck and equipment.
Qualifications
- Must reside within the Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa area.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required (CDL not required unless otherwise applicable).
- Previous experience operating box trucks, straight trucks, delivery vehicles, or commercial vehicles preferred.
- Comfortable traveling regionally throughout the Midwest with occasional overnight stays.
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service.
- Ability to safely load, secure, and unload materials while lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability and professionalism.
